ARTOSS-2003

International Workshop on Advanced Real-Time Operating System Services

July 1, 2003

Porto, Portugal

In conjunction with the 15th EUROMICRO
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON REAL-TIME SYSTEMS

Advance Program

The purpose of this workshop is to discuss the problems and general needs of real-time application developers and propose a minimum subset of operating system services that would be appropriate to satisfy the majority of the new timing, QoS, and composability requirements that applications have today, with the objective of
evolving from the rather static scheduling present in today's RTOSs, primarily based on off-line scheduling techniques, towards more flexible and dynamic approaches.

Agenda

9:00 - 10:30 State of the art

    - POSIX services
    - Services in commercial operating systems
    - OCERA architecture
    - Application defined scheduling proposals

10:30 - 11:00 Coffee

11:00 - 12:30 Support for quality of service requirements

    - Resource reservations and contracts
